Built for Every Class of Drone Designer

Whether you're iterating on a racing frame or sourcing parts for a defense UAS program, we print what you design — no minimum orders, tight tolerances, fast turnarounds.

🛸

Consumer & Hobbyist Builders

FPV racing frames, custom quads, freestyle builds. One-off prints or small runs. If you have an STL or STEP file, we can bring it to life in Nylon CF, ABS, or PETG.

🏭

Commercial UAS Operators

Inspection, agriculture, delivery, and mapping drone operators needing durable replacement parts, custom payload mounts, or proprietary component production at scale.

🎖

Military & Defense Programs

PEEK and ULTEM parts for defense UAS platforms. Government-ready, NDA-capable, ITAR-aware. Ideal for classified R&D, prototype components, and field-deployable hardware.

🔬

R&D & Academic Researchers

University labs, DARPA-funded projects, and private research teams. Rapid iteration from CAD to printed part — no MOQ, no tooling costs, results in days not weeks.

What We Print for Drone Designers

If your CAD software can model it, our Vision Miner 22 IDEX V4 can print it. Common drone components we produce on demand:

Airframes & structural arms
Motor mounts & motor pods
ESC & flight controller housings
FPV camera mounts & guards
Gimbal brackets & anti-vibration mounts
Antenna towers & brackets
Payload bay enclosures
Battery sleds & trays
Landing gear legs & feet
Propeller guards & bumpers
Custom connector covers
Sensor pods & LIDAR mounts
GPS mast & standoffs
Racing frame uni-bodies
Cargo delivery mechanisms
Tether management hardware

Best Materials for Drone Applications

Selecting the right material determines weight, heat tolerance, impact resistance, and chemical compatibility. Our recommended guide for drone applications:

Material Best For Strength-to-Weight Max Temp Notes
Nylon CF (PA12-CF)⭐ Top Pick for Frames Frames, arms, structural parts Excellent ~180°C Best stiffness-to-weight for FPV & commercial drones
PEEKDefense & High-Temp Motor-adjacent parts, defense hardware Very High 260°C Chemically resistant, biocompatible, replaces machined metal
ULTEM 9085Aerospace Grade FAA-regulated platforms, flame-sensitive areas High ~170°C FAA FST compliant, flame retardant, aerospace-tested
ASAOutdoor Builds Exterior shells, canopies, outdoor UAS Good ~95°C UV-resistant unlike ABS; excellent for agricultural drones
ABS Enclosures, brackets, non-structural parts Good ~85°C Lightweight, easy to post-process; standard hobbyist choice
TPU Vibration dampers, landing pads, bumpers Flexible ~80°C Excellent energy absorption; ideal for crash protection parts

Frequently Asked Questions — Drone 3D Printing

What materials do you use to 3D print drone parts?

We print drone components in Nylon CF (PA12-CF), PEEK, ULTEM 9085, ULTEM 1010, PPSU, ABS, ASA, PETG, and TPU. For structural frames and arms, Nylon CF offers the best stiffness-to-weight ratio. For,high-heat or chemically exposed environments, PEEK and ULTEM provide superior performance unavailable from most print shops.

What drone parts can you 3D print?

We can print virtually any FDM-compatible drone component: frames and arms, motor mounts, ESC and flight controller housings, camera gimbal mounts, antenna brackets, payload bays, FPV camera mounts, landing gear, propeller guards, battery sleds, sensor pods, and custom structural components from your design files.

Can you print drone parts under NDA for military or government programs?

Yes. DC Additive Pros welcomes NDA agreements for government, military, and classified drone R&D programs. Contact us at info@dcadditivepros.com to initiate a confidential conversation before any file submission.

What file formats do you accept for drone part printing?

We accept STL, STEP, OBJ, 3MF, and IGES files. STEP is preferred for highest dimensional accuracy. We can also work directly from SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CATIA, Onshape, or other CAD software exports. If you only have a physical part, we also offer 3D scanning and reverse engineering services.

Is there a minimum order quantity for drone parts?

No. There is no minimum order quantity. We print single prototype parts as readily as production runs. This makes DC Additive Pros ideal for R&D design iterations, flight testing, one-off prototype builds, and design validation before committing to larger production.

Are you ITAR compliant for defense drone printing?

We operate with awareness of ITAR requirements. For defense-related or export-controlled drone work, please contact us directly to discuss compliance requirements and NDA terms before submitting files. We can work within the appropriate frameworks for your program requirements.

What is the dimensional accuracy of your 3D printed drone parts?

Our Vision Miner 22 IDEX V4 holds tolerances of ±0.1–0.2mm on well-designed geometry with proper wall thicknesses. For precision-critical drone components (bearing seats, press-fit mounts, threaded features), we advise designing in standard clearances and can recommend adjustments based on your material selection.
