What you get

Every order is a snap-together kit: one deck with raised row and column labels, one base with centering pockets and drain holes, and two side rails with wedge pegs. Larger racks also include a center rib. Pegs press into closed mortises so the rack stays square under a full load of tubes.

Frequently asked questions

How does the snap-together kit work?

You get a deck, a base and two side rails that press together with closed mortise wedge pegs. Larger grids also include a center rib that snaps into the sides. No glue and no hardware. Press the pegs straight in until they seat.

What tube sizes can I choose?

Presets cover 0.2 mL PCR tubes (about 6.4 mm hole), 1.5 mL and 2 mL microcentrifuge tubes (11.0 mm), 15 mL conical tubes (18.44 mm, our proven default) and 50 mL conical tubes (about 30.8 mm). You can also set a custom hole diameter in mm. Please measure your tubes with calipers before ordering.

How big can the rack be?

The outer plate stays within 279 mm on each side so it fits our production printers. If your rows and columns would go over that, the builder asks you to use a smaller grid. Large spans automatically include a center rib so the deck does not sag under full tubes.

Do the wells drain?

Yes. The base has a centering pocket and a drain through-hole under every well so rinse water does not sit in the cups.

Are there labels on the rack?

Yes on the deck. Rows are lettered and columns are numbered in raised characters so you can find each well quickly. The base is blank.

What is it made from?

A durable polymer, printed to order in the United States in your choice of eight colors. Fine layer lines are normal with additive manufacturing. Clean with a damp cloth or 70 percent ethanol wipe. Not for autoclave cycles.
