Who is the Chargeback Dispute Desk for?

  • Shopify and DTC merchants handling roughly 50 or more disputes per year.
  • Smaller stores with an occasional high value dispute (Option B fits).
  • Agencies and multi-store brands: Option C retainer with +$199/mo per additional store, up to 10 stores total.

What does the desk do?

DC Additive Pros Chargeback Dispute Desk builds and submits chargeback evidence packets for Shopify and DTC merchants, using the merchant's own order, payment, tracking, communication, and policy records.

  • Merchant representment only: we answer disputes on the merchant side.
  • Build and submit packets; monthly reason report; prevention fixes drafted for your approval (billing descriptor, refund and shipping policy wording, delivery confirmation on higher value orders).
  • What we do not do: no win-rate promise, no filing for cardholders, no consumer debt collection, no invented or altered evidence.

How does it work?

  1. Describe your mess · $79: tell us your dispute volume, open cases, and processor. Colby reviews and recommends Option A, B, or C.
  2. Pick Option A, B, or C, tick the required boxes, check out.
  3. Authorize store or processor access; data processing terms (DPA) acknowledged before work.
  4. We log the evidence due date and set an internal target at least 48 hours earlier.
  5. We pull and cite each evidence item, write a rebuttal matched to the dispute reason, and a human QA reviews.
  6. The packet is submitted through Shopify Admin by you or a person you authorize; we record the outcome when the issuer decides.

Frequently asked questions

What is chargeback representment?

Chargeback representment is the merchant's formal response to a card dispute. The merchant sends evidence, such as the order record, payment authorization results, tracking, and customer messages, to show the charge was valid. The card issuer reviews that evidence and decides the outcome.

What does the DC Additive Pros Chargeback Dispute Desk do?

We build and submit chargeback evidence packets for Shopify and DTC merchants, using your own store, processor, carrier, and inbox records. We also prepare a monthly reason report and draft prevention fixes for your approval. We work on the merchant side only.

What is in a chargeback evidence packet?

A packet contains a dispute summary with the evidence due date, the order record, AVS and CVV results as shown on the order, fulfillment and carrier tracking with delivery proof, customer communications, your refund and shipping policies as they read at the time of purchase, and a rebuttal narrative matched to the dispute reason. Every claim in the narrative points to an attached exhibit.

What do I buy first?

Start with Describe your mess · $79 first. You tell us your dispute volume, any open cases, and your processor, and we review it and recommend Option A, B, or C. The consultation is intake and a recommendation only, not a packet. It is nonrefundable and does not count toward Option A, B, or C.

How much does the Chargeback Dispute Desk cost?

Start with Describe your mess · $79, which is nonrefundable and does not credit toward a plan. After that there are three options. Option A is a success fee of 20% of the recovered amount, with no per-case cap. Option B is a flat $149 per packet built and submitted, whatever the outcome. Option C is a $499 per month retainer that includes up to 4 packets and 1 monthly reason report, plus $199 per month for each additional store, up to 10 stores total.

Which pricing option should I choose?

Option B ($149 per packet) suits stores with an occasional dispute that want a fixed cost. Option A (20% of recovered) suits merchants who prefer to pay only when a dispute is decided in their favor. Option C ($499 per month) suits stores or agencies with a steady flow of disputes that want packets and a monthly reason report on one bill.

What happens if I need more than 4 packets in a month on the retainer?

Packets beyond the 4 included each month are billed at the rate you choose at signup: $149 per packet (the Option B rate) or 20% of the recovered amount (the Option A rate). No plan is unlimited.

Do you work with agencies and multi-store brands?

Yes. Agencies and brands with several stores can use the Option C retainer at $499 per month for the first store and $199 per month for each additional store, up to 10 stores total per retainer. Each store must authorize access for dispute work.

Do you guarantee a win rate or a recovery amount?

No. We do not promise any win rate, recovery amount, or income. The card issuer decides every dispute. Our job is to deliver a complete, accurate, on-time packet built from your records.

Who decides whether I win a chargeback?

The card issuer decides every dispute. DC Additive Pros does not decide the outcome.

Do I have to pay before work starts?

Yes. Packet work starts only after the $149 packet fee or first $499 retainer month is paid, or the 20% success fee terms are accepted at checkout. Under Option A, the 20% is billed only on amounts recovered.

Is this consumer debt collection, or can you file a dispute for me as a cardholder?

No to both. This is merchant representment only. We do not collect consumer debts, contact cardholders to demand payment, or file disputes on behalf of cardholders.

What are chargeback deadlines and how do you handle them?

Each dispute has an evidence due date set by the processor, shown on the dispute in Shopify Admin. Late evidence may not be considered. We log that date when work starts and aim to finish the packet at least 48 hours before it.

What access do you need, and how is my data handled?

You authorize access to your Shopify store or processor for dispute work, plus any carrier or support inbox records you choose to share. Data processing terms (a DPA) are acknowledged before work starts. We use your records only to build your dispute packets and reports.

Where does the evidence come from? Do you ever create or edit records?

Every exhibit comes from merchant-authorized sources: your store, processor, carrier, or inbox, and each one is cited. We never invent or alter evidence, including tracking numbers. You confirm that the records you provide are accurate.

Is this built for Shopify and DTC stores?

Yes. The packet format follows Shopify Payments dispute reasons: fraudulent, product not received, product unacceptable, credit not processed, and general. Packets are submitted through the Shopify Admin dispute page by you or a person you authorize.

What prevention fixes do you suggest?

Based on your monthly reason report, we draft fixes for your approval, such as a clearer billing descriptor so customers recognize the charge, clearer refund and shipping policy wording, and signature or photo delivery confirmation on higher value orders. Nothing changes on your store without your approval.

How do the required checkboxes before checkout work?

Before you can pay, you tick each required box to confirm you understand the terms: no win-rate or income guarantee, the issuer decides outcomes, merchant representment only, pay before work, you are authorized to provide the records and they are accurate, and processor fees and outcomes are outside our control. For the $79 consultation you also confirm it is nonrefundable and is intake and a recommendation only, not a packet. The boxes start unchecked and checkout stays locked until all are ticked.

Can I start with a single dispute as a pilot, and can I stop?

Yes. After the $79 consultation, Option B lets you start with one $149 packet. The Option C retainer is month to month at $499 per month, and you can cancel before the next billing date. If a pilot shows no recoverable disputes, we will tell you plainly rather than keep billing.
