Legal & Disclaimers

ATTORNEY REVIEW REQUIRED. The following clauses on this page are drafts prepared for convenience and do not constitute legal advice. Have a licensed attorney review and finalize them before relying on them:

  1. The customer rights and ownership attestation (Section 1A).
  2. The file accuracy clause (Section 1B).
  3. The limitation of liability and liability cap (Section 1C).

1. Manufacturer and Custom Work Disclaimer

DC Additive Pros provides custom additive manufacturing and 3D printing services. We manufacture parts to customer supplied files and to third party specifications. We do not design, test, or certify the parts we produce unless that work is separately agreed to in writing.

1A. Customer Rights and Ownership Attestation (attorney review required)

By submitting any file, model, drawing, or design to DC Additive Pros, you represent and warrant that you own that file or design or are properly licensed or otherwise authorized to use it and to have it manufactured. You are responsible for ensuring that your order does not infringe any patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other intellectual property or proprietary right of any third party. You agree to indemnify and hold DC Additive Pros harmless from any claim arising out of the files or designs you submit.

1B. File Accuracy Clause (attorney review required)

We build to the file and specifications you provide. DC Additive Pros is not responsible for errors, omissions, defects, tolerances, fit, or intellectual property issues that originate in customer supplied files or specifications. It is your responsibility to verify that your files are correct and complete and that the finished part is suitable, safe, and compliant for your intended use before placing your order and before putting any part into service.

1C. Limitation of Liability and Liability Cap (attorney review required)

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DC Additive Pros and its owners, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, personal injury, death, or property damage, arising out of or related to the parts or services we provide. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the specific order giving rise to the claim. By placing an order you assume all risk associated with the use of the parts we produce.

2. Aftermarket and Trademark Disclaimer

Some products offered by DC Additive Pros are aftermarket accessories designed to be compatible with equipment made by other companies. All brand names, trademarks, and model numbers referenced on this site are the property of their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility.

For example: "[Brand] is a registered trademark of its respective owner. This is an aftermarket accessory and is not manufactured, sponsored, authorized, or endorsed by [Brand]." This applies to every brand compatible item we list, such as DeWalt compatible accessories. Reference to any brand does not imply affiliation with or endorsement by that brand.

3. Material Limitations Disclaimer

The performance of any 3D printed part depends on the material used, the part geometry, and the conditions of use. The temperature limits below are general guidance only and are not a guarantee of performance in your application.

  • PLA and PLA+ parts are intended for use at or near room temperature. They should not be relied on above standard freezer temperature, which is approximately -20 C, and they can soften and deform at elevated temperatures.
  • We do not represent any of our standard 3D printed parts as autoclave safe, dishwasher safe, cryogenic safe, or rated for ultra low temperatures such as -80 C.
  • Higher temperature engineered polymers such as PEEK and ULTEM offer greater thermal performance. Specific temperature ratings vary by material and grade and will be confirmed for your project on request.
  • The term "chemical resistant" is used only where a specific material is actually rated for the chemical and the condition in question. Please do not assume chemical resistance unless it is stated in writing for your material and intended use.

If your application involves heat, chemical exposure, food or medical contact, load bearing use, or any safety critical function, please contact us before ordering so we can discuss whether a given material is appropriate.
